Ever since I can remember I've had a passion for creating. The activity of practitioner, critic and viewer has always played a central and fundamental role within my life. Though I must admit there did come a point when I found it difficult to juggle with all my different roles effectively: artist, wife, mother and full-time teacher. Something just had to go and I made a very conscious decision that it would have to be my own personal artwork. So my attitude changed and any artwork I did became a bonus. I then became far happier. Now years on, with children growing up, a little time is beginning to be found. Hence, I am not an artist who practices one discipline but one who operates ecclectically. My art fills my life: from painting and drawing to breeding cats, through to web design and Interior design. It is therefore a way of life rather than a single discipline. Through this practice I have grown to believe strongly in the ideology of the universal artist, pushing aside any snobbery and elitism. When I speak the word art it encompasses art, craft and design.
